Cryofacials, a form of skincare that harnesses the power of cryotherapy, have been proven to be an effective and easy treatment for your skin.
Many of us wish we could reverse the damage that’s been done to our skin. From wrinkles and dark spots to blemishes and bags, products are being developed every day that are designed to treat and help you regain youthful-looking skin. In fact, the skincare industry is expected to reach almost $11 billion in 2018.
- What if the answer wasn’t in creams and lotions?
- What if it was right down the street, in Colorado Springs?
Cryofacials: What’s the Difference?
You understand the importance of proper skincare and have perhaps tried different methods in the past; maybe you’ve even had a facial. Many estheticians recommend the treatment once a month for the best results, which can include improved texture, well-hydrated, glowing skin with fewer breakouts.
During a facial, your skin is cleansed, steamed and massaged. Unfortunately, the extractions can be painful, you might be left with red skin for a day or two, and the cost can add up, especially with regular treatments.
A cryofacial, on the other hand, can achieve even better results, faster, and in less time. Cryofacials lasts fewer than 10 minutes and have the same therapeutic benefits as whole body cryotherapy.
A professional will use a small wand, massaging the cold air into your skin in circular motions. The machine gradually cools the air, which you’ll notice throughout the painless procedure. As the temperature cools your facial skin, the vessels will tighten to lock in your body heat.
The Benefits of Cryofacials
Cryofacials can offer you many different benefits, with immediate and long-term results.
- During and immediately after the cryofacial, you’ll feel relaxed and refreshed. Your skin will look tighter, with a beautiful, youthful glow.
- Cryofacials have been shown to reduce under eye puffiness.
- You’ll continue to experience these benefits for the next seven to ten days.
- Engaging in a series of treatments can lead to a more youthful complexion while offering you the mood-enhancing, mental sharpness that accompanies cryotherapy. The compounded effects of repeated cryofacials help to increase the collagen output, giving you back the elasticity that comes with younger-looking skin.
- You will also see that your blood circulation gets better, your pores will minimize and your complexion will improve.
- Lightens and removes acne scars
- Enhances and balances pigmentation

Cryotherapy Facial Treatments
Cryofacials are a new facial treatment that use pressurized liquid nitrogen vapors that are applied to the face and neck in a facial type treatment. Dr. Jonas Kuehne, a Los Angeles plastic surgeon, developed the cryo facial technique, which uses pressurized liquid nitrogen vapors that are applied to the face and neck in a facial type treatment. The vapors are delivered via a cold beam of controlled liquid nitrogen. The cold vapors are really cold—at subzero temperatures in fact–minus 292 degrees Fahrenheit. To put it in perspective, these temperatures are twice as cold as dry ice.
The cold application decreases pore size, improves blood flow, and decreases wrinkles, lines and the appearance of dark spots on the skin. The nitrogen instantly tightens the skin. As an added bonus, it stimulates the production of collagen which over time increases the elasticity of the skin. Fine lines and wrinkles disappear.
In fact, the reason our skin sags and wrinkles over time is because we lose collagen. The freezing effect on the skin’s outer layer stimulates the deeper layers to produce collagen.
The super cooling creates an anti-inflammatory effect and when inflammation is soothed, puffiness is eliminated. The nitrogen also flushes away toxins that have built up in the skin.
Since blood flow to the skin is improved, many patients experience a more even skin tone, and even better growth of eye lashes and eyebrows. The cold makes the vessels and capillaries in the skin undergo a severe vasoconstriction, meaning that the vessels constrict as a natural reaction to the cold. When the cold is removed, the vessels dilate again, and this process helps flush out toxins stored in the layers of the skin.
Many sufferers of skin conditions like eczema, dermatitis and psoriasis use cryotherapy facials with great results to heal their skin.
Our cryofacial treatments also include a scalp treatment, which stimulates hair follicles and removes toxins built up in the follicle to stimulate hair growth.
The procedure is painless and non-surgical, and there is no downtime required.
